Year 2 children at Allerton C of E Primary School arrived at school on Monday to hear news of a dragon sighting on their playground. See the footage , taken in the early hours on Monday morning by an anonymous source.
The footage appears to show a large, grey dragon in the middle of the school playground. Subsequently, the year 2 children went in search for clues to see that whether the dragon had left any traces behind. They found footprints, nesting sites and possible scorch marks on trees.
Year 2 decided to write instructions entitled ‘How to catch a dragon’ just in case there are more sightings and further action is needed.

In English we have been hooking with the book ‘Meerkat Mail’. This week we have continued to learn the story, retelling orally with actions. To help us remember the main parts of the story, we created our own story maps using pictures and key words and phrases.
