This week, 2CN has started an exciting new DT project: designing and making our very own moon buggies! We talked about how astronauts need special vehicles to travel across the Moon and discovered that wheels and axles are an important mechanism that helps vehicles move smoothly.

Today, the children became designers. They sketched their moon buggy ideas, carefully labelled the parts, and listed the materials they think they will need to build them. We talked about how the wheels must turn freely on the axle so the buggy can roll across the Moon’s surface. There were lots of creative ideas and some brilliant thinking already!
